The reasons for writing an expository essay vary, but for some, it is a way to get their point across to a larger audience in less time. They also enjoy the freedom of writing as there is no editor they have to deal with. Although some people don't think it is useful, it is actually very effective when used correctly. Most college students write expositions of various subjects and therefore there are numerous good topics that can be used. One example is a thesis essay where you present the thesis of your course and are trying to persuade the reader to agree with you. This gives you an opportunity to explain some information that is currently difficult to understand or to explain some contradiction. You can also use it to focus on a topic that is too difficult to tackle in its entirety.* Arts and literature - Another great topic for an expository essay is one that is related to arts and literature. It can even be more interesting if it is related to areas that you have never studied before.
